| Have you heard of "BOOK AID" - The Charity (No 1039484) which provides Christian Literature in areas of need? Since its commencement 12 years ago, many millions of new and used Bibles and Christian Books have been sent to countries where new books are unavailable or unaffordable. This year they have a target of shipping 1 million Books to Bible-less Christians in Africa. There are probably many unused Bibles on shelves in homes across the Island which could be a blessing to someone who doesn't have one. Collecting them is not a problem; the problem here on the Island is getting them across to the mainland - Portsmouth or Southampton - for collection by Book Aid vans from time to time. Is there any one out there who travels to Portsmouth or Southampton by car who would be willing to help with this. Boxes are heavy, so it needs to be someone who is able to cope with lifting them in and out of the car. |
