most personal and least comfortable Delirious? album you've

this never really make. By now it should be business as usual
- working the formula and churning out the classics. But not
for Delirious?. Read More...

The Passion on TV
This Easter, Jesus is going to be broadcast
into 10 million homes.
'The Passion' is a dramatic BBC series
retelling the death and resurrection of Christ. It's scheduled
to go out at peak time, in 6 half hour slots between Palm
Sunday and Easter Sunday.
Filmed in Morocco and starring actors such
as Joseph Mawle, James Nesbitt (Cold Feet) and David Oyelow
(Spooks and The Last King of Scotland), the production is 'an
extremely vivid piece of drama'.
Andrew Graystone, Director of the Churches'
Media Council, goes on to say that 'this Easter the whole
country will be talking about Jesus. Not about church
politics or the finer points of theology, but about
Jesus.'
As an opportunity for evangelism, we think
that this is pretty exciting! (For an official Hope08 comment
on this, see below.)
We'd like to help you come up with ways to
respond - from simply encouraging people to watch the
programmes to hosting a debate on the themes - this is a
chance to really help our communities engage with the Easter
story.
Churches Media Council have put together
some notes and suggested responses for churches. Have a look
here
If you already know how
you're going to make the most of this, we'd love to get your
ideas out there! Let us know via www.hopenews.co.uk | |

Women's World Day of Prayer
A celebration for everyone Each year women
from a different country prepare a service to be used
all over the world.
This year it is the turn of the Christian women of
Guyana, "a country of exceptional beauty, perched on the
north-east corner of South America".
They have given their service the theme of 'God's wisdom
provides new understanding'.
There will be a service at Cowes Baptist Church on Friday
7th March which is being led and organised by
Christian women in Cowes.
It will start at 11a.m.
and this year's Speaker will be Doreen
Drake.
Following the service there will be a
'bring and share' lunch to which everyone will be
welcome. Contributions may be
left in the hall as people arrive.
There will also be a Traidcraft stall with fairly-traded
goods and foodstuffs. Although this is called the
Women's day of prayer it is not exclusive and men will
be warmly welcomed. Source: Gill Murray
AlsoThe
Women's World Day of Prayer service is to be held at
All Saints, Freshwater on Friday 7th March.
This year's liturgy is arranged by women of
Guyana, and Mrs. Gwen Brailsford is the preacher.

Bus Outreach Team Easter street
outreach
The bus outreach endeavours to share the gospel of
Jesus Christ on the streets of the Isle of Wight. The
vision of the bus (or the "God Pod" as it is now called
by the young people who visit it) is becoming better
known among local Christians. It is proving to be a
successful way of reaching those who, for a variety of
reasons, would never otherwise hear of Jesus
Christ. Find out
