Cowes Brass Quintet

Throughout April the Cowes Brass Quintet are performing three charity concerts in Island churches
 
The dates are as follows:
  • Tuesday 1st April: St Mildred's Church Wippingham 7:30pm Entry Free (donations to church restoration fund)
  • Tuesday 15th April: St John's Church Northwood 7:30pm Entry Free (donations to stain glass window fund)
  • Tuesday 22nd April: St John's Church Newport 7:30pm Entry Free (donations to church restorations fund)

All the concerts include two hours of light musical entertainment and refreshments during the interval.

IDMC Gospel ChoirIDMC

The internationally famous IDMC Gospel Choir will be performing  on Sunday April 20th at the Riverside Centre at 7.00 p.m. This stunning choir, which is considered to be one of the most successful gospel choirs in the UK, is led by founder and director John Fisher, who has worked with musical greats such as Chaka Khan, Ruby Turner and Mica Paris, the choir is a highly influential part of the British UK Gospel Scene.  

One of the major highlights of the choir's history was in 2003, when IDMC were invited to perform at the wedding of Luciano Pavarotti in Italy. The choir has made numerous radio and television appearances including Radios 1, 2, 3 and 4, Songs of Praise, GMTV. Recent high profile performances this year include the Peace One Day Concert at the Royal Albert Hall alongside Marc Almond.

The Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Niton is pleased to host this special event at the Riverside, the proceeds of which go to the choir and to the church's amenities project (CAP Fund).

This 2 day conference, at Ashburnham Place, East Sussex, is for anyone wanting to know more of the details and the practical "how to" of community transformation. 

The conference will prove to be invaluable for those who are planning initiatives for Hope 08 and for anyone who would like to find out more about working in partnership with the police towards community transformation and setting up and maintaining an effective inter-church prayer network.

Update on the latest project of the Friends of St Edmund's
Repair of the set of lancet windows in the chancel of St Edmund's Church. Thanks to the support we have received the Trust is now in a position to fund repair of the first of these windows.We are currently awaiting news of when the work can begin.
