9.30-3.15pm Saturday 31st July
 at Downside Middle School, Newport
Organised by Victorious Life Church

International speaker and prophet Rauna May, currently based in Hawaii, will be teaching on 'Hearing God'

Rauna May has been in fulltime ministry for over 35 years. Currently she is one of the pastors at New Hope Christian Fellowship, a church of 14,000 weekly congregants in Honolulu, Hawaii. She has also taught as a professor at several Bible Colleges. She travelled as an international conference speaker and evangelist for many years ministering by the power of the Holy Spirit in 117 countries. She has been in pastoral ministry for the past 30 years and for 16 years, before moving to Hawaii, she was the senior pastor of a church that she planted in Vancouver, Canada. This church had a widely impacting outreach to the poor, drug addicts, alcoholics, and prostitutes and was recognized and awarded by all levels of the Canadian government.

Rauna has many inspiring stories on how the Lord has used her to bring healing, forgiveness and restoration in people's lives. Her teaching is both clear and practical.

Calling all Cake Bakers!
cakebaker1.jpgBestival  (9th - 12th September

The Solace Tent will once again be appearing at  the Bestival music festival at Robin Hill Country Park.
Hosted by Christians from a number of Island churches, Solace is a completely free chill out tent located within the festival. It provides a chance for people to take a break and have a free cup of tea and a slice of cake. Other activities on offer include prayer & healing, feet washing and our own open mic stage.

The vision behind Solace is to show festival goers an expression of God's unconditional Love and Grace for us all.  This is a gift from the churches on the Island. Over the 5 years we have been running it the response has been incredible and we are seeing God at work more and more each time we do it.

We are appealing for some help in all this as we need an army of intercessors and cake bakers behind us!
1. PRAY - Please pray for the success of Solace. For the team to serve well and for the people who come to discover the reality of Jesus' love and healing power.
2. BAKE some Cakes! -  We need as many cakes as possible.
DougWe very much value your support - Thanks again for helping make it all possible

Three Peaks Challenge for Christians Against Poverty   trainers.jpg
On 4th  September 2010, I am participating in the National 3 Peaks challenge - a walk up Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pyke in a 24 hour period.

The aim of the walk is to raise sponsorship with funds going totally to the work of Christians Against Poverty. This organisation aims to train people to order their finances in a manageable system and to make well-informed decisions about budgeting, cutting coats, saving and giving.  Through local training courses of 3 weeks and subsequent contact with trained money coaches people are supported in getting out of and staying out of debt. More difficult cases are dealt with through trained debt counsellors. Many individuals have come to faith as a result of attending these church based courses.

If readers would like to sponsor me., they can do so by contacting me
directly or simply going to website.  There are more links to the CAP money website and more details on the reasons behind the walk.

The Enneagram - What's it worth?
The Enneagram offers a uniquely complete map of the psychological forces in us - both the healthy and the destructive. There is no aspect of life it doesn't touch on. As with all truth, its honesty is only for the courageous. But should courage be found in you, you in turn will find the Enneagram a great friend.

This day in Cathedral House and the cathedral will be given over to consideration of the Enneagram, in its various aspects and applications. Bring your questions and discoveries.
It is a day both for those who know nothing, and for those who know something.  No knowledge will be assumed; but all knowledge will be welcomed, deepened and stretched. Time spent by you in preparation for the day will not be time wasted.  We will each bring what we can; and carry away gold.

Simon Parke was a priest in the Church of England for twenty years, before deciding on new adventures. He then worked in a supermarket for three years, stacking shelves, on the till, chasing thieves and chairing the shop union. He is now a freelance writer, consultant and retreat giver. He writes a weekly column for the Daily Mail called 'One-Minute mystic', which is also now a book. He has a weekly column in the Church Times, and his Enneagram book is called 'Enneagram, the world's greatest psychologist' (Lion). Simon has been working with the Enneagram for something over twenty years; and is still learning.

Ignite Ministries - School of Ministries
And I, brothers, when I came to you, did not come with clever speech or with wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God.  For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.  And I was with you in weakness and in fear, and in much trembling.  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5

Ignite Ministries will be holding a School of Ministry on the Isle of Wight starting September 2010.  This school is for those who want to effectively share their faith in Jesus Christ and to grow in a real and intimate relationship with their heavenly Father and to be activated in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Modules of the school will include:
Jesus:
Jesus purpose for coming and his mission
His Ministry
Crucifixion
Resurrection
Ascension
Second coming
Also included in the course:
Love:
Character
Evangelism
Prophetic Ministry
Healing Ministry
Worship
Prayer
How to develop an Intimate relationship with God
How to study the bible
The School will include much, much, more than this very brief outline and also will include practical outworking of the modules.
To register your interest please email   and include your full name and the Church or Group you belong to.
If you do not belong to any group at all please call 0845 426 7215.

Ignite Ministries is based at Heaven's Gate Church, Newport, Isle of Wight.

Rock - The Story of Simon Peter

Starting in Caesarea at the house of Cornelius in Acts Chapter 10, the story unfolds in flashback.  We see Peter called away from his fishing nets, his years on the road alongside Jesus and the disciples, his triumphs and his failures.

Saturday 23rd October  7.30 p.m.   St. John's, Sandown
Sunday 24th October   3.30 p.m. St. John's, Newport

ROCK is a lively and inspiring presentation - Jesus called Peter "the Rock" but as the musical unfolds we see that only in Jesus and filled with His Spirit is Peter on solid ground. Three National tours have been completed and now Roger will be bringing some of his soloists to the Island to present a concert version with the help of a local choir - so we need to create one! June Cox from St John's Church, Newport has again agreed to lead and rehearse the choir. Singers of all ages are encouraged to take part. The proposed rehearsal dates are as follows:

Wednesdays:  8-9 pm      1 Sept - 20 Oct        St John's Church, Newport

Plus Fri evening 22 Oct and Sat afternoon 23 Oct with Roger and team

Sign up now, and reserve a copy of the music score:   special price - £5
(pick up at the first rehearsal - or If you want it posted then add £1 p&p)

STOP! Reportstopband.jpg

Well the gigs are over and we're planning for the next one!
We'll be returning to the Colwell Bay Inn to do another gig in the near future - the date to be settled  yet.
But Both were successful and we enjoyed seeing people enjoying our music!

One lady came forward and told us she'd been distanced from the Lord for over fifteen years and wondering the country- and had felt so touched by some of the words she decided to give her heart to Him again. Many many of the people were non Christians and made a point of telling us how much they enjoyed it and asked when we would be playing again -young and old seemed to enjoy themselves and we ourselves felt awed that God was and is using us in this way.
We continue to pray for openings for the right ' Gigs' - where the Word can be spread and where funds can be raised for the rest of the album to be completed -and our aim- to be an ongoing support to ' Aid to the Balkans', 'The Street pastors' and H. M inmates on the Island prisons can be totally realised.Thankyou to everyone who gave us their support and we look forward to the next one!

A very special thank you to Terry and Chris Burke and Martin for helping with all the printing and stood for hours selling the EP's!!!!!!!!!!

YES! - Our EP is now out and we're selling it at £3.00 each or two forDoug £5.00 (Buy one and give one to a friend!) All funds going to charity as previously stated.
Four of our songs are featured- a taste of good things to come!!! We hope you enjoy it!

Do you have a Primary School Connection?
bibleexplorer.jpg Eg - Teacher, Support Assistant, Governor
iwyfclogo.jpg
Over the last few years the storyline of the Bible has been taught to thousands of pupils in year 5 & 6 in Middle schools across the Island through the Bible Explorer lesson material (Walk Thru the Bible adapted for use with children). Using drama, storytelling, and plenty of pupil participation these lessons have been very positively received, with feedback such as "most looked forward to lesson of the week", "the pupils and staff learnt loads and absolutely loved it!" "Outstanding presentation, come back again soon!"

As the school system changes we have the opportunity to reach even more pupils in primary schools through a growing team of presenters from the IWYFC team and local churches.

This is where you come in
, it's much quicker and easier to get an open door into a school through someone "on the inside"!
If you have a strong link with a primary school and would like to see a lively interactive presentation of the storyline of the Bible happening in that school please contact Chris Reddecliff (Director of Schoolswork IWYFC) Tel:731103, email:
